"We are so busy measuring public opinion that we forget we can mold it. We are so busy listening to statistics we forget we can create them." ~ Advertising Genius Bill Bernbach
Get FamousWelcome to Chasing the Top 5%.
This is not a theory. It’s not a course. It’s not a recycled "get rich online" template. It’s a real-time experiment where I, Eric Ryan, try to build a $30K/month profit machine from scratch—in just six months—using nothing but AI, cold email, a content service, and my ability to talk.
The mission? Break into the top 5% of income earners in America, which kicks in at around $335,000/year or roughly $28,000/month.
I rounded up to $30K/month and gave myself a 180-day clock.
I call it: Chasing the Top 5%.
And I’m documenting every day of the process.
The Idea: Productize a Video Content Service
Over the last year, I’ve tested different services under my content agency, Offensively Creative. The most promising—and the most scalable—was video content production.
People hate making their own content, but they love looking like an expert. So I partnered with a white-label content team (shoutout to ProudMouth) and created a fully packaged offer called The Fame Factory—a done-for-you video service that turns business owners into industry celebrities.
I make $1,000/month in profit per client. So, to hit $30K/month, I need 30 clients.
The Strategy: Use a Podcast to Sell the Service (Without Selling It)
I created a video interview series called The 7-Figure Questions, where I invite:
Harnessing the power of video contentto be featured in a short-form interview. It’s free. It’s flattering. And it’s the perfect Trojan Horse.
They come on. I make them look great. I give them pro video clips. Then I ask if they want to do this every month—with zero effort on their part.
That’s The Fame Factory.
The Outreach Plan: Cold Email + HubSpot Sequences
I built 7-email outreach sequences for each industry, loaded them into HubSpot, and scheduled them to drip out automatically.
Here’s the math:
So to get 30 clients, I need:
That’s roughly:
I’m rotating outreach evenly between the three verticals, measuring reply rates, and documenting which industry converts best.
The Content Plan: Document Everything
Every weekday, I post a short video diary about what I did, what worked, and what I learned.
Every Friday, I post a weekly recap with:
And yes, I open every episode with a joke from a classic joke book—because if I’m going to hustle this hard, I’m going to make it entertaining.
The Stakes:
If I hit $30K/month by the end of 6 months, I prove that AI, video, and cold email can scale a legit service business fast.
If I fail… well, at least I documented the entire glorious crash.
Either way, it’s a better use of your time than another coffee-fueled podcast about “hustle culture.”
So follow along, root for me—or against me—and let’s see what happens.
Do the right thing...
